The first sod was celebrated in Gemünden

The approval phase has been completed – at the end of May, the first ground-breaking ceremony for the seven wind turbines of the new Gemünden wind farm followed. In the coming months, four plants will be built in the city forest of Gemünden and three more in the district of Schiffelbach. The 35 million euro wind farm in the Waldeck Frankenberg district of Hesse is operated by “Windpark Gemünden GmbH”, a subsidiary of VEW.

“We are pleased as a county also with the city of Gemünden and the forest owners, that the construction of the plant can now be started”, said district administrator Dr. med. Reinhard Kubat during the ceremony for the groundbreaking ceremony. He greeted the start of construction together with his mayor Frank Gleim. With the new wind farm, Gemünden can make a contribution towards renewable energies away from fossil fuels. “I’m very proud of that,” says mayor Frank Gleim, who is confident that the city will benefit in the long term.

Each plant will have a height of almost 200 meters with a rotor diameter of 117 meters. The generating capacity of a plant is 2.4 megawatts – so the park has a total output of 16.8 megawatts. The generated energy should be fed into the power grid.

The inauguration of the wind farm is scheduled to take place this fall. On 9 December, the commissioning of the last wind turbine is planned. ENOVA accompanies the project from the beginning. So ENOVA was involved in the determination of the basics, the allocation of wind turbines and the obtaining of the BImSchG.

Ensure strong returns with citizen participation

The energy transition is in full swing. As more and more people want to be part of it, ENOVA now enables citizen participation in the wind farm Börger-Ohe 1.

ENOVA is currently building four wind turbines northeast of the center of Börger in the municipality of Sögel in the state of Sölden. Two of them will be operated by ENOVA in the future and offer interested citizens the opportunity to participate financially in clean energy. The two ENERCON E-115s each have a capacity of 3 MW – in figures this means an output of approx. 15.4 million KWh per year, enough for approx. 4,000 households! And in words: ecological, sustainable power generation, in which every interested party participates.

In the case of investing in the green future, the returns are also worth money if successful: with a yield of 3.75% p.a. – and that from an investment of 500 euros.

Registration for this innovative form of investment is simple and unbureaucratic and works exclusively through the ENOVA website Simply register and invest in a proven wind power site in clean and efficient energy production! On the page you will find all the information about the project citizen participation in the wind farm Börger-Ohe 1.

It´s going forward in Börger-Ohe!

Stage goal achieved: On 17 December last year, the last of the four foundations of the Börger-Ohe 1 wind farm in Emsland was completed! Good prospects for a smooth further project execution: Also the approval according to BlmSchG was granted in December. The partial permit for the construction of access roads and foundations was already available at this time; Start of the construction was already in November 2015.
In the municipality of Sögel in the state of Sölden four ENERCON E-115 with 3 MW each will be erected, which together generate an output of approx. 34,000,000 kWh per year – enough for approx. 8,500 households! Half of the four wind turbines are operated by landowners and ENOVA; Commissioning is planned for the summer of this year at the latest.

Gemünden wind farm approved: ENOVA as service provider of central partner

In the Hessian Waldeck-Frankenberg district, the starting signal for a new wind farm has been given: in the districts of Schiffelbach and Gemünden (Wohra), seven new wind turbines will be built this year.

ENOVA was commissioned as a service provider for several service phases: from the basic analysis through the approval planning to the participation in the allocation, the wind energy project manager from Bunderhee is involved in the project.

The approval for the € 35 million project was granted in early December 2015. Already before Christmas, the clearing work of the currently used area for forestry began on which in the future the seven Nordex N117 / 2400 with a hub height of 141 m each will stand.

The operator of the wind farm is Windpark Gemünden GmbH, a subsidiary of the association VEW. Commissioning is planned for the first quarter of 2017.

The new highlight in the Rheiderland: ENOVA is repowering a wind energy plant in the industrial area Weener

From now on it is the highest wind energy plant in the Rheiderland: the ENERCON E-101 in the industrial park Weener. After weather-related delays, it was solemnly put into operation by the wind energy project planning team and the client, Klingele Windkraft GmbH. Since 2013, preparations have been made for the repowering of the Nordex N52 wind turbine on the industrial site of Klingele-Papierwerke.

With more power into the new year

135 meters hub height, 101 meters rotor diameter, 3050 kW power – these are the specifications of the E-101, which is in the true sense of the word the new “highlight” of the region. If you look at the performance, the size, however, becomes a minor matter: thanks to repowering, the new wind turbine now produces around 9 million kWh/a, about nine times as much as the old Nordex N54. “The new plant will produce an annual energy yield of around 9 million kW/a,” says Hendrik Stalljann, project manager at ENOVA. “So Klingele is going into the New Year with more power!” Around ten percent of the power demand of the Klingele paper mill could theoretically cover the ENERCON E-101.

BImSchG for the Heerenweg repowering project

For the wind farm repowering project Heerenweg, in course of the approval planning, the approval decision in accordance with the Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG) was granted by the district of Leer in September 2015.

On behalf of Windpark Heerenweg GmbH, ENOVA Energieanlagen GmbH has prepared the BImSchG application for the project “Repowering Heerenweg” (Bunde, Leer district) as part of a service contract. 6 WEA locations are planned with the manufacturer SENVION. As part of the approval planning process, ENOVA handles the preparation of the application as well as the interface communication between the district involved, the municipalities and the assessors. Furthermore, the coordination with clients by ENOVA as well as the participation in all government appointments including the application conference takes place.

The new 3.4M114 plants have a nominal output of 3.4 MW, a rotor diameter of 114 m and a hub height of around 93 meters. They replace the nine existing E-40 plants from Enercon with a rated output of around 500 kW. The construction of the access road and the crane shelves has already begun.

Furthermore, ENOVA is commissioned to implement the grid connection of the wind farm to the public electricity grid. Due to the higher capacity of the new wind farm, further use of the previous grid connection is not possible. The approx. 11 km long 30 kV underground cable system connects to the new substation (UW) on the 110 kV line of AVACON AG. As part of a service contract, ENOVA Energieanlagen GmbH is responsible, among other things, for the planning of the line, the negotiation of user contracts with landowners and the obtaining of permits. In addition, ENOVA coordinates the planning and construction work of third parties, such as electrical engineering, cable laying and the erection of the substation.

Wind energy conference NRW

From 26 to 27 November, the Wind Energy Days NRW offer operators, planners and project engineers of wind turbines a central exchange platform. Also this year ENOVA will be represented at the industry meeting as a sponsor and exhibitor. The event is organized by the NRW Regional Renewable Energy Council in cooperation with the North Rhine-Westphalian State Association of the German Wind Energy Association. Around 350 participants and over 35 exhibitors are expected.
The ENOVA Group is already planning and projecting several wind farm projects in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Thematic focal points of the wind energy days include the tendering procedure 2017 and its effects on wind energy inland as well as the design of future wind power marketing. In addition, the expansion of wind energy in North Rhine-Westphalia is discussed.

Approval for repowering project in industrial terrain

For the ENOVA planned repowering of a wind energy plant on the grounds of Klingele Papierwerke GmbH & Co. KG in Weener, East Frisia, this week the approval according to Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG) was granted.

Since the end of 2013, ENOVA has been planning and implementing the repowering of a Nordex N52 wind turbine on the industrial site of the paper mills. With the premature building permit issued by the district of Leer it was already possible to start the preparatory work for the access road, the crane parking areas and the erection of the foundation at the end of April. The preliminary work on the foundation including the measures to improve the soil has already been completed.

On the industrial site of Klingele Papierwerke GmbH & Co. KG, the old system with a hub height of 60 m and a rated output of 1000 kW will be replaced by a new, more powerful one. The E-101 from Enercon has a hub height of 135 meters and a nominal output of around 3 megawatts (MW) with a rotor diameter of 101 meters. Commissioning is planned for 2015.

Upon completion, the wind turbine will produce an annual energy yield of around 8.5 million kWh.
