Bunderhee/Medebach: The development contract for a wind farm project at Hillekopf (Sauerland) was awarded by the State Foresty Association of North Rhine-Westphalia, Forest and Wood NRW, in the context of a bidding procedure. Around 20 developers nationwide took place in the bidding. The bidding process was won by the East Frisian project developer ENOVA.
The ENOVA Group has many years of experience in the design and implementation of onshore and offshore wind farms. In recent years, they have gained expertise in the development of wind plants in forest areas. The areas for the Hillekopf Wind Farm are located mainly in the national forest of Wald und Holz NRW. Projections indicate that the area around the 805 meter high Hillekopf mountain, in the northern part of the Rothaargebirge, is a very good wind site.
Wald und Holz NRW has for the first time leased a forest area for use as a wind energy site. ENOVA looks forward to working with the forestry office, the municipality, the municipal utilities, as well as the people in the region, says the managing director of the group, Helmuth A. Brümmer.
On the wind farm area of Medebach, north of the village of Kuestelberg, up to six wind turbines can be built according to current plans. Recently, avifaunistic observations (ornithology) have been initiated for species conservation reports, which are required as part of the approval process.
