EEG surcharges at the Waldfeucht wind farm

Bunderhee, 18.10.2021. After obtaining the BImSchG permits for the repowering of the 14 Enercon E-66 turbines at the Waldfeucht wind farm in the Heinsberg district of North Rhine-Westphalia in August 2021, the next milestone has now been reached.

Together with our partners – the Frauenrath Group and BMR Energy Solutions GmbH – we were able to win the contracts from the EEG tender for the 6 Nordex N-163 wind turbines.

“The awards from the EEG tender were the decisive piece of the puzzle. Less than a year after the acquisition of the old wind farm, we already have the approval and the award for the repowering,” Björn Burau, team leader of Investment & Asset Management, is pleased: “Overall, we can currently increase the installed net capacity from around 25 MW to 40 MW with our repowering.”

Approval for the seventh wind turbine at the Waldfeucht wind farm is expected before the end of this year. This should mean that nothing more stands in the way of the turbines going into operation in 2023.

The ENOVA group of companies, headquartered in East Frisia and with a branch office in Hamburg, has been developing, realising and managing wind farms in Germany since 1989. The range of services offered by the 50-strong family business extends from the initial project idea, including realisation, through wind farm management and service, to repowering.

All competences flow together over four business areas in one life cycle. The foundation is project development & planning (EPC), which to date can point to 250 MW of successfully realised onshore projects and 1,500 MW of approved offshore projects.

This is complemented by technical and commercial management (TCM), which currently manages around 500 MW for its own and external wind farms across Germany and has launched a data-based asset management software on the market with the product

Another important component is the technical maintenance and servicing (ISP) of ENOVA Service GmbH. As an independent service provider and specialist for Enercon wind turbines, around 190 turbines from Enercon E-40 to E-92 are currently running under contract.

Investment & Asset Management (IAM) rounds off the business areas. In the last four years, around 25 wind farms with a total capacity of around 150 MW have been successfully acquired and have since been operated and further developed to create value.
