Offshore wind farm RIFFGAT is completed

Construction of the last wind turbine in the offshore wind farm RIFFGAT was completed over the last few weeks. With its thirty SWT 3.6-120 wind turbines, RIFFGAT is the first ready-built commercial offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.

The installed wind turbines have a single output of 3.6 megawatts (MW) and a rotor diameter of 120 meters. The hub height is 90 meters, and the total height from water surface to the upper rotor blade tip is 150 meters. With a total output of 108 MW, the offshore wind farm will produce enough electricity for 120,000 homes. On August 10, the wind farm will be inaugurated. Current is not yet flowing. The network operator Tennet is still working on completing the last section of the 50 kilometer submarine cable for network connection.
