Quadrupling the energy yield: Holtgaste Wind Farm
Holtgaste in Rheiderland is the site of the first wind farm in the Leer district, built in 1995. The original ten Tacke TW600 turbines were replaced by five Enercon E-101 systems in 2013, which almost quadrupled the energy yield. The Enercon E-101 systems have a rated capacity of 3 MW, a rotor diameter of 101 meters, and a hub height of 99 meters. Due to the new equipment, the projected annual production is now at 29.5 million kWh.
